Tuesday of Advent 1 – Is 11:1-10; Luke 10:21-24

When someone makes us a promise, it’s natural to be a bit sceptical. We’ve learnt from experience to be cautious; prudence tells us not to get carried away. But what about when God speaks? When He promises things so good, so extraordinary, they sound almost impossible – justice that truly reigns, peace that fills everything?

Jesus called ‘blessed’ those who met Him, those who experienced His presence first-hand. And here’s the thing – we can see ourselves in that same light. We are blessed. Choosing to see yourself that way changes everything. It shifts your whole perspective.

Will You give me peace of heart, Lord? I’ll gladly receive it. Will You give me courage, true knowledge of You, and Your justice? Yes – I believe in that too.

The Christian way of seeing the world is bold, fearless – open to all of reality but seen through the right lens. Through the light of God. And when you let that light in, nothing stays the same.
