Saturday of Week 25 – Ecclesiastes 11:9-12:8; Ps 89:3-6,12-14,17; Luke 9:43-43

The Son of Man will be handed over to men – I read this and I think about all those hurt by indifference, excessive ambition, the lust for power . . . About all those destroyed by evil human action. I think about God and whether He wanted this, whether this is how the world has to be . . .

Of course, the point I’m making is not to paint another teary image, or to become a little  emotional. Nor to set off to the ends of the earth to suffer for the millions . . . It’s about awareness that God Himself looks on us everyday. He looks at our hands touching His body, His brothers and sisters, His loved ones . . .n
