Tuesday of Week 5 – 1 Kings 8:22-23,27-39; Psalm 84; Mark 7:1-13
Yearning for the past can hit us hard sometimes, can’t it? We think about those gatherings, the people we cherished, and the beautiful liturgies that once filled us with joy. There’s this urge to rewind and recreate those moments, to capture that pure happiness again, to feel that warmth of connection. But when we finally get the chance, it often falls short of our expectations. It’s like that ancient wisdom reminds us: “You cannot step into the same river twice.” The waters have changed, and so have we.
Now, what about the future? We catch glimpses of what’s to come, seeing, hearing, and touching, but it’s all a bit fuzzy—like looking through a dimly lit window. Yet, that’s the beauty of it! Each experience is fresh and unique. God isn’t into repeats; He’s full of surprises and overflowing with gifts. So here we are, waiting in the entrance, longing for that ultimate encounter—the Holy of Holies. Anticipating the day when we’ll finally see Him in His full glory.
Jesus, you are the deepest longing of my heart!
