Monday of Week 19 – Ez 1:2-5,24-28; Psalm 148:1-2,11-14; Matthew 17:22-27
Give glory to God – to participate in the life of the Church, in the liturgical rhythm of the day. To find ourselves there – among brothers and sisters also seeking God, awaiting His mercy. To be in the Church, is to be at home, like a son or daughter.
The mystery of Jesus’ life who was killed for our sins and rose on the third day as He promised – this requires a prayerful focus, which is born from praise. The Church provides this space, or rather it is such a space. Don’t be surprised at anything here, even the Cherubim around the Lord’s glory seem to be surprised at this place. Our presence here is in some way natural, because where else is it so close to the One who gave up His own life for us? Today each of us in a safe space, at home, like a son or daughter.
God, You are the Lord of the universe, and everything that is comes from You and is subject to You. Take away from me the temptation to think of this world as my home and let me long for that place which is my true home and in which I can begin to experience Your glory, in this Your Church.
