Week 26 Monday – Job 1:6-22; Ps 16:1-3,6-7; Luke 9:46-50
It seems to us that we are rulers of the world – work is accomplished, in the end we always rise from our knees, we don’t have failures, it appears we are precautious and resourceful.
For there is such a weakness, which knocks us off our feet. As though measured out simply for us, aimed straight at the heart. There is such a misfortune that in the face of it we are helpless and dependent on others like a child. One that reveals the truth about us: here we are naked, totally in His hand.
In such a time we then think deeply. This overwhelming conviction that the world can’t be like this, that the truth about reality must be different. That there must come the One who can conquer everything, even death. The only Lord of the world, the ultimate Victor: Jesus.
