Those whom He called . . . also glorified.
I rarely notice it. Day to day I don’t remember it. It rather seems to me that being a Christian is no easy challenge. With the prospect of heaven, true, but some toil, some going against the grain. Beautiful, but demanding. And Paul reminds me today that the grace of faith given me by God is a reason for glory. I am someone favoured. After all, even when I don’t know how to pray as I ought, the Holy Spirit Himself intercedes for me…
Who knows, perhaps it is precisely from not seeing how greatly we are favoured through faith that our complaining arises that people turn away from God? The believer loses nothing. Those who forget God, who have no need of Him, are the ones who lose. Poor people, right? We need to share the faith with them and enrich them…
