Tuesday of Week 2 – Heb 6:10-20; Mark 2:23-28

When we engage with the holy Scriptures, it becomes evident that God is on our side. The narratives presented emphasise the history of salvation, showcasing God’s care and favour as He draws people to Himself from the very act of creation. In the letter to the Hebrews, the author references the promise made to Abraham, urging us to persevere and find a “refuge” grounded in our trust in God’s actions.

However, this perspective of hope can sometimes elude us. The eternal covenant established with humanity may appear to be a fragile metaphor, easily forgotten amidst the suffering we face or the global disasters that unfold. Yet, the Lord of the Sabbath reveals that God’s intention is for everything to serve the good of humanity, subtly shifting our focus from external events to our own experiences. The crucial question remains: do we view things this way? Do we see ourselves as central to God’s concern, and do we place God at the centre of our lives?
