Feast of Saint Catherine of Siena – 1 John 1:5-2:2; Matthew 11:25-30
The message of Saint John is very specific. He invites us to contemplate God – light. Gazing at His Face I discover the quietness and humility of the heart which leads me to accepting the wisdom of God. Within Him is the light which illuminates all the darkness of my heart.
The greatest darkness is my weaknesses, sins, which cast a shadow over my relationship toward God, others and myself. In the land of darkness and the shadow of death there is however Hope, who has the name Jesus Christ:
“but if anyone should sin, we have our advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ, who is just; he is the sacrifice that takes our sins away, and not only ours, but the whole world’s.
I ask You, Lord, help me with Your grace, so that I may learn from Saint Catherine’s life for You, so that Your kingdom develop in this world.
