6th day in the Christmas Octave – 1 John 2:12-17; Ps 95:7-10; Luke 2:36-40

A life that is blessed. A person who is wanted, surrounded by care, who can mature and grow in such an atmosphere. Are we able to look at ourselves in this way? At the people around us? As those who are touched and sustained by God’s grace day after day?

We are not children. We can say that a lot has already happened – with us, around us. We trust, but not instinctively, without thinking – it is rather a difficult decision than a reflex, a choice fought moment by moment rather than an experience built on an unclear feeling of “somehow-it-will-be”.

The old woman praising God and the child brought to the temple – this is the Child. They are in the right place, at the right time – just like us today. But do we still believe in this – in this “characteristic” of our own place and time? That we truly mature, are filled with wisdom, are led by grace?

Jesus, I thank You for every joy of meeting You in the temple of my heart. I believe You mature it, give me wisdom by Your Spirit, pour in Your grace. Amen.
