Feast of Saints Simon and Jude – Eph 2:19-22; Psalm 18:2-5; Luke 6:12-16
Prayer
Everyone in the crowd was trying to touch him because power came out of him that cured them all.
There is silence in the church where the adoration of Jesus takes place. In silence, some enter. They come to meet the One who is the End and the Beginning. In silence you can hear the voice of God who wants to speak to the heart. This is where the power of God’s love is revealed.
The Lord always attracts with the power of His love, the source of which is persistent prayer. This is what happened when He wandered through the land of Palestine and the choice of the Twelve was made. Through an occupied, oppressed, rebellious land, and it is still the same today. But it is all about experiencing His closeness and meeting Him.
Being close to Jesus allows Him to work in us and through us in the power of God’s Spirit, which sends us into the world with the message of Good News to love and serve.
