The Nativity of the Lord – Isaiah 52:7-10; Ps 98:1-6; Hebrews 1:1-6; John 1:1-18

[…] in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son (Heb 1:2).

Earlier the prophets spoke in God’s name – in the fullness of time the Son will speak. Christ is therefore the fullness of Revelation. The mystery of the Incarnate Word reveals the eternal plan of the Father, the goal of which is salvation, and therefore cleansing from sins. In this way He also wants to reveal to us who the Father is.

Therefore, accepting the God-Man is about an open heart, and amazement and delight in the Mystery. All the colourful decorations are only a background for the joy of the coming of the Saviour, who brings grace and truth to the earth, strengthens interpersonal bonds, invites us to walk the paths of faith, hope and love. The light from Bethlehem becomes available through Him to everyone.

The Son of God became man to reveal to people the great truth about man and his dignity. Gazing at Jesus in faith is very necessary for us to shape in ourselves the identity of a child of God. The closer we are to Jesus, the better and more beautiful we become in our humanity.

Christ, who is our hope, shows that the meaning of human life is to be for others.

May this Christmas be as it should be for you . . On the solemnity of Christmas, I wish you . . . . to find time and attentiveness for Jesus and His Word. May Jesus receive the most beautiful gift – you, so that this Christmas be as it should be: may the gift be given to the One who has a birthday, and not to everyone else!
