Tuesday Week 23 – 1 Cor 6:1-11; Luke 6:12-19

So one brother brings a court case against another in front of unbelievers (…) oughtn’t you to let yourselves be wronged, and let yourselves be cheated? But you are doing the wronging and the cheating, and to your own brothers.

Oh, weeds . . .

What to do when my brother wrongs me? I shudder at the answer given by the Apostle Paul. It is easy to say: endure. It is easy to say: suffer the harm. This may be better than reporting a brother to unbelievers. But what to do if there is no other judge over him? When he is not moved by the fact that he is harming his brothers?

Apostle Paul, you wrote that a little yeast leavens the whole dough! Allow injustice!? And what if it spoils the Church!? Must we really not pull out the weeds, even though due to the lack of reaction they are growing more and more abundantly?

I know, God is the judge. He will not allow the unjust to enter the kingdom of heaven. And my wrongs are unimportant. More important is that I know how to stand up for my wronged neighbour. Since I am to judge angels someday, I cannot be afraid of offending my powerful brother. . .
