Wednesday of Week 14 – Hosea 10:1-3,7-8,12; Ps 105; Matthew 10:1-7

For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, says the Lord (Is 58:8).

Why did You choose Judas to be one of those closest disciples to You? After all You knew his heart and mind. Did you have hope that being next to You would change his view toward others, and toward God?

You made the decision – and a few years later Judas also made a decision: he betrayed the place you were spending the night, and this contributed directly to Your passion.

During Your imprisonment by Caiaphas or as You carried the cross, did the memory of that time You chose the twelve enter Your head? Maybe it did, but for sure You didn’t regret making the choice at the time. Because such regret is associated with a lack of forgiveness: of yourself, the other person or God. But in You there is ALWAYS forgiveness.

Thank You for choosing Judas. Thanks to this I learn not to regret my past decisions despite them bringing me pain and suffering. I learn to forgive my mistakes or lack of thoughtfulness, my weaknesses and imperfections, so as not to accuse – neither myself, nor another or God. And I only ask You constantly to bring good out of evil.
