Feast of Saint Thomas the Apostle – Eph 2:19-22; Ps 116; John 20:24-29
If in faith we’ve missed something – like Thomas’s encounter with the Risen One – we can cry out like him: “Show us your hands and your side, prove that you are Jesus.” But we can also trust the words of the disciple who believed because he saw: “My Lord and my God.” Our faith has much in common with the path of Thomas – because we do not want a ghost, we want to meet the true God. But trust is also demanded of us.
Capture that moment when asking God questions forces you to bend your knees. When rebellion turns into recognition. When we turn from being torn by doubts into witnesses.
