Monday of Week 1 – Heb 1:1-6; Ps 96; Mark 1:14-20
The same call, repeated: convert. Yet it’s not the same, for today we are different from yesterday. Our burdens have grown, and our strength has waned. This call is uniquely tailored to our present selves. Act on this, shun that, believe.
We did not achieve this: despite our good intentions and every ounce of strength. The Kingdom has come near, for Jesus desires to be with us, to draw close.
Therefore, even imprisonment and all that confines us cannot triumph. He has arrived, calls us by name, pulls us from the entanglement, and reveals the deeper purpose of these events. Toward the goal, toward heaven, to reign with Him.
