Fifth Monday of Eastertide – Acts 14:5-18; Ps 115; John 14:21-26
A life of faith is not an abstract idea but a Person – Jesus Himself. To live that life, we walk with Him, observe His works and pattern our deeds on His. In so doing, glory is revealed: as the Son honours the Father, so the Father in turn glorifies the Son.
This invitation is not reserved for a select few; it is extended to each one of us. Before He returned to the Father, Jesus left us His last will and testament: “Love your neighbour as I have loved you.” We have been held in an eternal embrace – a love without end, unshaken by any hardship. No one is excluded; His arms enfold us all.
You may wonder, “How can I possibly keep such a command?” Do not be afraid. His love remains with you. He walks beside you on this astonishing adventure: glorifying God by loving those around you. So let’s seize every moment. Let’s cherish even the smallest acts. Every word of kindness, every gesture of mercy, becomes a living fulfilment of Christ’s testament.
