Week 23 Wednesday – 1 Cor 7:25-31; Ps 44; Luke 6:20-26
Brothers, this is what I mean: our time is growing short. Those who have wives should live as though they had none, and those who mourn should live as though they had nothing to mourn for; those who are enjoying life should live as though there were nothing to laugh about; those whose life is buying things should live as though they had nothing of their own; and those who have to deal with the world should not become engrossed in it. I say this because the world as we know it is passing away.
Wanderers
Not to get involved? Not to do anything seriously, with commitment? To live in appearance?
No. It is not like that. Rather, to look at life like a wanderer. Here and there he meets living people and their totally real affairs. But, because one day he is here and the next he is thirty kilometres away, he sees these everyday problems from a different perspective. He notices which are important and which are worth a shrug at most.
With the prospect of achieving happiness before his eyes, it is easier for him to admire the little things that everyday life brings. . . .
