Week 3 Wednesday – Hebrews 10:11-18; Ps 109:1-4; Mark 4:1-20
Jesus Christ has offered one single sacrifice for sins, and then taken his place forever, at the right hand of God, where he is now waiting until his enemies are made into a footstool for him.
How much of God’s peace there is in these words. What was to happen has already been accomplished. It just remains to wait. With patience the sower waits for growth.
There’s no reason for anxiety watching the seed fall onto the path. Onto rocks. Between thorns. We need to take the example of God and His peace. After all He said: I will right my law in their hearts and in their minds, and not remember their sins.
There’s no need to be anxious since He, who more than we can imagine wants our salvation, is calm. You just have to protect those on rocks from the sun. Care for those on the path. And the path and the rocks can become rich soil. And on the path and rocks plants can grow bringing abundant fruit.
We are not to save the world. He has already done it. We are only to bring others to Him. Without worrying about growth.
Dear Lord, thank You for the perfect sacrifice of Jesus and the peace it brings. Help us to trust in Your promise, nurturing others with love and patience, as we await Your abundant harvest. Amen.
