Fourth Wednesday of Eastertide – Acts 12:24-13:5; John 12:44-50

The promises made by Jesus are real – because God doesn’t speak into the wind. However, Christianity does not begin with miracles. It begins with a humble faith in real change, accomplished by water and the Holy Spirit. It begins in hearing the Word of God. It begins with a humble faith of the Godhead concealed under the appearance of bread. It begins with humble faith in God who in the fragile human form brings us salvation.

The answers to questions of faith cannot be seen an earthly light. They are put into humanity and are revealed in an unearthly light.

Everything God does is always saturated with the fragrance of His hands. Our task is hold on to this fragrance so that it’s not blown away by the wind. We need to close the door and fill in the gaps around the windows.

Mary sometimes received, sometimes gathered in, but she always kept everything. There was no danger that any piece of goodness would pass by her without producing fruit.

Later she considered them in her heart. She thought and she pondered on things.
