Saturday of Week 31 – Romans 16:3-9,16,22-27; Ps 111:1-3,5-6,8.9; Luke 16:9-15
“One who is faithful in a very little is also faithful in much, and one who is dishonest in a very little is also dishonest in much.”
This is a piercing truth when we notice how often we excuse ourselves from small duties or simple acts of love—because they seem minor or unimportant. “Well, after all, nothing like that’s going to happen. . .” How often do we use this to justify ourselves?
Small infidelities, compromises, and neglects cool the heart. Little by little we grow lukewarm, until we scarcely see how far we have drifted.“Be sober, be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. Resist him, firm in your faith” (1 Peter 5:8-9).Whoever is too big for small things is too small for big things. . .Choose faithfulness in the little.
Refuse the small compromise.
Stay watchful; pray for a steadfast heart.
