Monday of Week 20 – Ez 24:15-24; Deut 32:18-21; Matthew 19:16-22

It’s true, He does not break the bruised reed. It does happen though that He breaks the proud reed, straightened, convinced of its own perfection and superiority. Not with the intention of destroying it. God breaks, – in the language of the prophet – allows profanation – but it is only a part of the plan to create a new man.

This is why, instead of a blessed indignation, it’s sometimes necessary to remember God gives life, to turn the eyes to the Rock who begot man, to see the new perspective opening up when He is encountered. When telling us about following this, He shows what to do next.

This is why, instead of a blessed indignation you have to ask: What next, Jesus?
