Thursday of Week 18 – Jer 31:31-34; Jer 31:10-12,13; Matthew 16:13-23

She shouted for Jesus, because she was desperate for Him to hear her, to have pity, to cure her daughter. Yet she didn’t rise to the harsh refusal and asked Him even more earnestly. And she was heard. Thanks to her great faith . . .

When a misfortune comes you can recognise it with humility as the will of God. And accept it with love. But you can also earnestly ask God to change an unhappy fate. He won’t be offended. He knows that listening to this or that request His plans won’t be upset. Especially, if due to it, our faith, hope and charity grow.
