Saturday of Week 3 – 2 Sam 12:1-7,10-17; Ps 51; Mark 4:35-41

Jesus is asleep.

In the heart a storm of feelings: anger, rage, sorrow, sadness. A whirlpool of discouragement and resentment, humiliation and indignity.

And Jesus is asleep.

I’m in the midst of fears and anxieties about money, about the health, about the family. Around me, the winds of human malice and envy.

And Jesus is asleep.

How can we fight fear with faith? Faith consists in the fact that when in life there are all sorts of storms and tempests, I lay next to the sleeping Jesus, and I am able to fall asleep, because I believe He is there whether I feel it or not, entrusting myself to Him He wraps me in His cloak.

Lord, increase our faith in Your redeeming love and power that we may always recognise Your abiding presence with us. And give us courage to do Your will in all circumstances.
