Fifth Tuesday of Easter – Acts 14:19-28; John 14:27-31

I give to you Myself, is how you can understand the words of Jesus: “my own peace I give you”. “For he himself is our peace” (Eph 2:14) says Saint Paul. Finding peace in God is our calling. Peace is born in communion, the harmony of creation with the Creator. In a spiritual sense – remarks the Benedictine John Main – peace is not something we can conjure up, but something we must enter into. Just as peace in the world cannot be imposed by force, so we will not achieve internal peace by using some form of hostility towards ourselves.

Saint Teresa of Calcutta left us those beautiful words which direct us toward achieving the True Peace:
The fruit of silence is prayer
The fruit of prayer is faith
The fruit of faith is love
The fruit of love is service
The fruit of service is peace

Lord Jesus, come and dwell in my restless heart and help me to find myself in You.
