Wednesday of Week 9 – 2 Tim 1:1-3,6-12; Mark 12:18-27
Does your walk with God ever feel like an uphill battle? Like it brings more complications and tough choices than you signed up for? It’s easy to sometimes long for simpler days, before we were so aware of the spiritual struggle around us.
If that’s you today, Saint Paul’s words to Timothy are a perfect balm for the soul. He reminds us that God has not given us a spirit of timidity or fear. Instead, He gives us a spirit of “power and love and self-control” (2 Timothy 1:7).
With this divine gift, our perspective shifts.
- Those “unnecessary” complications become powerful opportunities to love and serve others.
- The suffering that touches every life, when united to Christ’s Cross, gains profound, redemptive meaning.
- Those inconvenient decisions, guided by faith, become our path to true freedom and salvation.
It may not be an easier life, but through His grace, it is a life filled with purpose and divine strength.
Thank you, Jesus, for revealing the Father’s true face and for the love that carries us through every trial. Amen.
