Week 12 Monday – 2 Kings 17:5-8.13-15,18; Ps 59; Matthew 7:1-5
Ever wonder if God seems harsh when He points out our mess? The prophets weren’t sugarcoating anything – they were simply saying, “You walked away first.” Our sins, not His anger, opened the door to trouble. Chasing trendy “gods” never ends well; history keeps proving that.
Still, we’d rather hear softer words. Yet Scripture keeps us honest: repentance isn’t punishment – it’s rescue. Jesus flips the script by asking us to yank the plank from our own eye before pointing at anyone else. That’s not judgment; that’s love clearing our vision so we can finally see Him clearly.
Today, let’s drop the excuses, own our part, and trust that His “tough” words are really an invitation back home.
