Feast of Saint Thomas the Apostle – Eph 2:19-22; Ps 116; John 20:24-29

A Parasite
It most often appears when a tree is weak
“You are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, built on the foundation of the Apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the cornerstone.” – Ephesians 2:19-20
In times of trial, when we see sin and witness many leaving the faith, Saint Paul’s words are a powerful anchor. It is easy to feel that the Church is shrinking or defective. But our identity is not found in our failings; it is found in our foundation. We are built upon the rock of the apostles, with Christ Himself as the unshakeable cornerstone.
This foundation is not a static relic of the past. It is a living structure that, in Christ, “grows into a holy temple in the Lord.” The Church’s holiness comes from Christ, who dwells within her. We are the living stones being built into this sacred dwelling.
Let us reject discouragement and embrace our calling. We are not an inferior generation. We are members of God’s household, invited to rise up and grow. Let the Holy Spirit shape you, making you a vibrant place for God to dwell, a beacon of His presence in the world today.
