Thursday of Week 15 – Is 26:7-9,12,16-19; Psalm 101:13-21; Matthew 11:28-30
Do you ever feel the weight of the world on your shoulders? Jesus sees you, and His invitation is personal and constant: “Come to me, all who labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28).
He offers a beautiful exchange. He wants to lift the crushing burdens of anxiety, fear, and exhaustion from you. In their place, He offers His yoke. This is not another burden, but a partnership. His yoke is one of love, perfectly fitted for you, and He carries it with you. When we are yoked to Christ, our paths are made straight and our spirits are refreshed.
In a world of superficial connections, Jesus does not want you simply to “sign in” to a faith. He invites you to enter into a real relationship. He offers more than a casual acquaintance; He offers profound friendship. He gives more than a passing “like”; He offers a deep, abiding love.
When you accept this invitation, you discover that His yoke is easy and His burden is light. You find true rest for your soul. The words of the Gospel you know by heart spring to life, speaking directly to your daily experience. You are no longer merely weary, but wonderfully alive in Him, with a heart ready to shout for joy.
