Tuesday of Week 17 – Micah 7:14-15,18-20; Ps 84:2-8; Matthew 12:46-50
“Whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother.”
Family is usually the circle of people closest to us, joined by blood and shared history. But Jesus opens that circle wider. He shows us that His deepest family bond is not based only on human ties, but on living in the will of the Father.
That call is both universal and personal. God desires everyone to know the truth and be saved, yet He also has a unique path for each of us: a personal journey of becoming more like Christ.
So how do we recognise God’s will today? We find it in Scripture, in prayer, in the events of daily life, in honest conversations, and in the quiet wisdom of faithful people. A simple evening examination of conscience can help us pause and ask: What today was good, pleasing to God, and true?
But recognising God’s will is only the beginning. We are also called to live it. As St John reminds us, we must love “not in word or speech but in deed and truth.”
Like St Faustina, may we pray for the grace to trust completely: to seek God’s will in all things and rest in His mercy.
