Feast of Saint Ninian – Isaiah 52:7-10; Luke 10:1-9

What’s your vision of the Lord’s harvest today?
When Jesus sent out the seventy disciples, He wasn’t just giving them a job to do – He was opening their eyes to a great harvest ready for the kingdom of God. He often spoke about harvests to show what happens when God’s reign truly breaks into our world.
Think of it: seed is scattered, hidden in the soil, then slowly, almost silently, it grows – until, at last, there is fruit ready to be gathered. In the same way, God’s word is planted in the hearts of those who are willing to listen, to surrender, and to honour Him as Lord and King.

And this harvest isn’t small or narrow. Jesus was not thinking only of Israel, but of every nation, every culture, every person. No one is outside His loving desire.

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him may not perish, but may have eternal life” (John 3:16).

So today, ask the Lord to let you see the world as He sees it: fields ripe for harvest, and you, His labourer, sent with His love.
