Tuesday of 1st Week of Lent – Is 55:10-11; Matthew 6:7-15
Today, we are reminded that God’s word never returns empty. Just as rain nourishes the earth, our prayers reach heaven with purpose, bringing forth the fruits of His will. When we call out “Our Father,” we embrace our identity as His beloved children, relying on His grace in our daily lives.
It’s easy to wonder if our prayers matter – if they genuinely change anything. But think of the simple beauty in being a child: we don’t question our connection, we simply trust. When we ask for forgiveness, we open ourselves to healing; when we forgive, we experience the depth of God’s mercy.
This isn’t merely a theoretical concept; it is real and deeply personal. Our everyday struggles, be they hurt or disappointment, are not obstacles but opportunities to experience His love in action. Our faith, hope, and love must be tangible and specific – just like the bread we share and the relationships we nurture.
So, let’s take heart and trust in His promises. As we pray, let’s seek the nourishment of our souls and the strength to forgive. Father, guide us to live out our faith daily. Help us to savour Your gifts: our daily bread, protection from harm, and the power to forgive and be forgiven. May we experience the rich fruitfulness of Your word in all we do.
