Memorial of Mary, Mother of the Church – Genesis 3:9-15,20; Psalm 87; Acts 1:12-14; John 2:1-11
At the wedding feast, Mary noticed what others missed: quiet embarrassment, servants’ unease, the hidden fear of running out. With a mother’s heart, she simply turned to Jesus and asked for help.
The Church is called to do the same. Not only to see the obvious needs around us, but to notice the hidden struggles behind smiles and laughter. A mother’s eyes look deeper; a mother’s heart refuses to look away.
So we act. We bring what we have – small, ordinary gifts – and place them in Jesus’ hands. He turns water into wine and turns our quiet faithfulness into unexpected grace.
