Week Nine Thursday – 2 Tim 2:8-15; Mark 12:28-34
Do You Know Who I Am?
We’ve all seen that classic scene in movies. Two people face off, and one indignantly demands, “Do you know who I am?!” It’s a power play, an attempt to win with status. But it often falls flat, revealing that worldly rank has little to do with a person’s true greatness.
Now, imagine God gently asking you that same question. Not as a threat, but as a loving invitation: “Do you really know who I am?”
This is the question that changes everything. Unlike the empty boast of a person, the more we confront who God is, the more we discover His infinite goodness. This is the truth St. Paul lived and passed on to Timothy –faith rooted not in knowing about someone, but in truly knowing the Person of Christ.
Many of us are missing this honest confrontation. We’re afraid to stop and truly listen to God’s question. But in seeking the answer, we don’t find an intimidating tyrant. We find a Father. We find mercy. We find a love that defines our own true identity.
Jesus, I want my encounter with God to be honest. Help me, by Your grace, to spend my whole life discovering the truth of who You are.
