Lent, Monday of Holy Week – Is 42:1-7; Ps 27: 1-3.13-14; John 12:1-11

There’s something almost defiant about faith – like looking the world in the eye and saying, I’m not afraid. Not because we’re strong, but because God is. Sure, the world sees our weakness and our sin. But it also sees something else: grace at work, forgiveness, a love that refuses to stay buried.

Today we choose to stand with Jesus – the One who falls publicly, who gets abandoned by His closest friends, written off as a failure. It’s not a fair fight, and honestly? We probably won’t look heroic. But being with You, Jesus, is enough. More than enough.

We might romanticise it sometimes – imagining ourselves as some kind of noble resistance, a spiritual band of brothers, all honour and glory. But the real picture is less cinematic: confused neighbours, awkward questions, a burial that almost nobody notices.

And yet – here we are.

We’re not running.

We’re ready.

Let it be.
