Second Saturday of Easter – Acts 6:1-7; John 6:15-21
It’s natural to be afraid of God at first. He is not what we expect. He does not fit our neat ideas. He is always greater, always more, always deeper.
And yet, to hear His voice is to find peace: “Do not be afraid.”
There is something both sobering and full of hope in His presence. It changes us. It cannot really be explained away — it has to be known personally.
The fear of God begins to fade when we recognise Him in Jesus. And we recognise Him not by power or spectacle, but by the way He treats us: with closeness, mercy, and truth.
This is the deepest relationship there is — creature and Creator, I and Thou.
And here is the wonder: the God who is beyond all our ideas is also the God who comes near.
