Friday of Week 17 – Jer 26:1-9; Ps 68; Matthew 13:54-58
Durability. We chase it in buildings, bank balances, health, relationships – even hope. Sometimes we long for things to endure; other times, not so much. Plenty can rest on our efforts, or barely anything at all. That’s why we pile up financial cushions, emotional safeguards and layers of caution against those inevitable dark hours.
Yet when the apostle declares the Word of God lasts forever, and the prophet proclaims God’s sure promises of salvation, here’s a durability we can truly rely on. Solid enough to build our whole lives upon.
It simply takes faith – real faith. That’s our side of the bond, a deliberate choice we make each day.
Lord, You bring us grace, truth, life and freedom. Fill us with the joy of Your hope, so we never walk away from You, but gladly offer our lives in return.
